The name "Silversides" usually refers to the GMC model PD3751 bus used by Greyhound (and others) from the late 40's until the early 60's. We've adopted the nickname for our group, but in our case it has more to do with hair color than bus models. All of us either worked in, worked into, or in some way had almost daily contact with the San Diego Greyhound operation. Between us we have filled nearly every position at the local level, from car cleaner, baggage man, and janitor, through ticket and express clerks, drivers, Terminal and Operations Managers and Charter Supervisors. While we all have Southern California roots, the membership is now spread from Washington and Oregon to New Mexico and Texas. A few of us are retired, and those who are no longer with Greyhound have jobs ranging from law enforcement to trolley operators and truck drivers. We hope you enjoy your visit... we're especially proud of our comprehensive Interline (links) page. Just sit back and enjoy the ride...smoking in the last 3 seat rows only.
